Most people that know me know of my deep rooted love of Cleveland’s Emeralds. I’ve seen these kids blossom over the last few years into one of the most formidable acts in the underground scene. Seeing them Sunday night at the No Fun Fest was a bittersweet scenerio, it was great to see them entertaining a huge amount of people, but knowing that Steve Hauschildt was playing on borrowed gear was heart wrenching. He was in the middle of a solo tour with like minded musician Joe Raglani and their gear was ripped off from their van parked in front of Dan & Taylor’s space age bachelor pad in Williamsburg Saturday night. I guess with No Fun Fest at a more yuppified location it was easy to forget just the general cruelty of Brooklyn. I had never met Joe until the Champagne of Fests in Cleveland, I don’t know him well but he comes across as a stand up individual.
